Job summary

The Air Force Test Center at Edwards Air Force Base is seeking a Full-Time Supervisory General Engineer (NH-0801-03) to provide technical leadership for open air, installed vehicle, and hardware-in-the-loop test programs.

You will plan, execute, evaluate, and report on test projects, lead teams, ensure safety and compliance, and contribute to TEMP, TP, Test Cards, and other management documents. This role requires security clearances and an engineering degree; relocation may be paid.

Qualifications

• ABET accredited engineering bachelor’s degree required.
• Secret or TS/SCI clearance required.
• Experience with DoD tests and flight test programs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise personnel management responsibilities at least 25% of the time.
• Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts priorities and schedules.
• Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities and capabilities.
• Evaluates work performance and provides guidance to employees.
• Interviews candidates and recommends appointment or reassignment.
• Hears and resolves complaints, escalates when needed.
• Implements disciplinary actions and suggests further steps when required.
• Identifies development needs and arranges training for employees.
• Finds ways to improve production and quality of work.
• Contributes to TEMP, Test Plan, Test Cards and related documents.
• Directs test philosophy and policy to ensure technical validity and safety.
