Job summary

The Ohio State University’s Hospital system seeks a Lead Instrumentation Coordinator to oversee preparation, sterilization, and delivery of instruments for surgeries across the enterprise.

You will supervise daily operations between the Operating Rooms and Sterile Processing, standardize instrument trays, train CCS Technicians, and coordinate with the CSS Educator to uphold clinical standards. Location includes Ross Heart Hospital and other sites; shift is third with on-site expectations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; certification or vocational training may be required.
• CRCST or CSPDT certification required upon hire.
• 4 years of relevant experience required; 6+ years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead Instrumentation Coordinator oversees daily activities between the Operating Room and Sterile Processing Departments to facilitate efficient case flow and sterilization of reprocessed surgical inventory.
• Organize instrument trays on a global level to service the Enterprise in a standardized procedural manner and monitor OR schedule to avoid delays.
• Provide clinical orientation for CCS Technicians and Instrumentation Coordinators in coordination with the CSS Educator; educate clinical standards and policy.

Education

High School diploma or GED

Associate degree (preferred)

CRCST certification (HSPA) or CSPDT certification
