Job summary

The Ohio State University Health System is seeking an Instrumentation Coordinator to prepare, sterilize, assemble, and deliver surgical instruments for procedures. This role ensures aseptic packaging, safe reuse, and cross-site coordination across the Enterprise, including multiple hospitals and ambulatory sites.

Responsibilities include coordinating daily activities between Operating Rooms and Sterile Processing, procuring instrument trays, and supporting process improvements.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or G.E.D. completed.
• At least one year of experience as an instrument processor or surgical technologist.
• CRCST or CSPDT certification required upon hire or within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily activities between Operating Room and Sterile Processing to support efficient case flow.
• Prepare, sterilize, assemble, and deliver surgical instruments and trays across the Enterprise.
• Procure and standardize instrument trays; ensure aseptic packaging and delivery to point of use.
• Serve as clinical liaison between ORs and offsite CSS locations; track sterilized instrumentation.
• Participate in process improvement and maintain high standards of infection control.
