Job summary

Environmental and Safety Solutions, Inc. is seeking an experienced Instrument and Controls Startup Engineer to lead precommissioning and commissioning planning.

You will coordinate with project management, engineering, construction, and clients to implement startup plans, identify risks, track progress, and ensure goals and schedules are met. You will oversee testing activities from component to integrated facility level, develop work packages, and prepare startup manuals and procedures.

Qualifications

• Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10–13 years of relevant experience or 14–17 years of relevant work experience.
• Minimum of 7 years prior experience in Precommissioning, Commissioning, Startup or facility Operations including at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial position.
• Understanding of mining and extraction facilities and associated process equipment and control philosophies.
• Right to work in the U.S. or sponsored visa candidate.

Responsibilities

• Reports to Lead Instrument and Controls Startup Engineer and Commissioning Preoperational Manager.
• Coordinate with disciplines to execute Instrument and Controls testing activities (component, system, and integrated facility level).
• Develop Advanced Work Packages for Precommissioning and Commissioning testing.
• Prepare startup plans, testing procedures, and system turnover documentation.
• Prepare and administer specialty subcontracts to support commissioning activities.
• Provide on-the-job training for client personnel as required.
• Input to engineering revisions for system descriptions and manuals based on testing outcomes.
• Monitor and maintain precommissioning and commissioning schedules and budgets.
• Lead system turnover walkdowns and manage punch lists for electrical equipment.
