Job summary

Environmental and Safety Solutions, Inc. seeks an Instrument and Controls Startup Engineer for Thacker Pass project. You will coordinate with management, engineering, construction, and clients to develop startup plans, manage risks, and drive testing activities.

The role requires deep expertise in instrument/control systems, startup procedures, and documentation, with readiness to work in a demanding mining environment.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10–13 years of relevant experience.
• Minimum 7 years in Pre-commissioning, Commissioning, Startup or facility Operations.
• Mining and Extraction facilities knowledge and process equipment.
• Right to work in the U.S. or sponsorship availability.
• Experience with PLC, HMI, SCADA, DCS.

Responsibilities

• Reports to Thacker Pass Lead Instrument and Controls Startup Engineer and Commissioning Preoperational Manager.
• Coordinate with project management, engineering, construction and clients to plan startup activities.
• Develop Advanced Work Packages for I&C pre-commissioning and testing.
• Prepare system pre-operational and integrated test procedures.
• Prepare, award and administer specialty subcontracts for commissioning.
• Provide on-the-job training of client personnel.
