Job summary

Global Edge Group is seeking a Lead Instrumentation and Controls CSU for a mining project. This role focuses on pre-commissioning, commissioning planning, and startup activities, coordinating with project management, engineering, construction, and clients to ensure milestones are met.

The position requires extensive experience with PLC/HMI/SCADA/DCS systems, strong reading of electrical schematics, and the ability to manage testing procedures and turnover activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) with 10–13 years of relevant experience, or 14–17 years total.
• At least 7 years in pre-commissioning, commissioning, startup or facility operations.
• Experience with mining/extraction facilities and process equipment.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, PFDs, and instrument loops.
• Must have U.S. work authorization or visa sponsorship.
• Strong English communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Lead pre-commissioning and commissioning planning activities.
• Coordinate with PM, engineering, construction, and clients.
• Develop startup plans and system testing procedures.
• Prepare and administer subcontracts to support commissioning.
• Oversee system turnover and punch list resolutions.
• Provide on-the-job training for client personnel.
• Monitor schedules and budgets; report progress.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings and instrument loops.
