Job summary
Valar Atomics in Orangeville, Utah, is seeking an Instrumentation & Controls Specialist to lead field execution of instrumentation, calibration, configuration, and commissioning for our nuclear fuel manufacturing facility. This hands-on role centers on installing, calibrating, and troubleshooting field devices, and supervising technicians to ensure quality and safety.
You will coordinate loop checks, document wiring and loop diagrams, and drive safe, efficient startup with I&C engineering
Qualifications
- Associate degree or apprenticeship in instrumentation or related field; four-year degree not required.
- 7+ years hands-on I&C experience in process or nuclear facilities.
- Experience planning/leading commissioning, loop checks, punch-list closure.
- Ability to read P&IDs and instrument data sheets.
- Experience supervising technicians or contractor crews.
Responsibilities
- Install, calibrate, configure, troubleshoot field instrumentation.
- Lead commissioning activities and supervise technicians.
- Manage calibration program and records; ensure traceability.
- Ensure safety and regulatory compliance in hazardous areas and during startup.
