Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a senior I&C Professional to lead and support control projects for nuclear power plants, coordinating with multiple disciplines to ensure technical excellence and on-time delivery.

The role emphasizes strong project management, client interaction, and engineering design of PLC/DCS/HSI-based systems, with opportunities to work on modernization initiatives and automation-enabled workflows.

Qualifications

• BS degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• 10+ years in design engineering of instrumentation and controls systems for commercial/industrial applications with integrated system design experience.
• Professional Engineering license is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of available equipment and proven pre-engineered systems for controls design.
• Experience as a firm's client liaison in a support or lead engineering role.
• Experience in reviewing design documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support control projects with a focus on technical execution and PM.
• Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and structural disciplines to complete projects.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve controls engineering issues.
• Develop Digital Systems Design (PLC, DCS, HSI, networks).
• Prepare control system requirements and procurement specifications.
• Interface with clients to ensure project execution and satisfaction.
• Prepare and review technical reports, calculations, and studies.
• Manage resources and develop task estimates and budgets.
• Support proposal development.
• Prepare and review diagrams and drawings for upgraded controls solutions.
• Evaluate vendor bids from a technical perspective.
• Liaise with vendors and witness FAT as needed.
• Support project implementation at client facilities.
