Job summary

Richardson School in Appleton, WI is seeking an Instructional Aide Supervisor to lead and support Instructional Aides, manage staffing, and oversee de-escalation and intervention training for a program serving students with developmental and behavioral needs.

This role requires a bachelor’s degree in a human service field and Wisconsin DPI substitute teaching license; the supervisor will also train staff, coordinate investigations when needed, and ensure a safe, therapeutic educational

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a human service field and one year of relevant experience with developmentally disabled or emotionally disturbed children.
• Must obtain or maintain a Wisconsin DPI substitute teaching license within 1 month of hire.
• Demonstrates good judgment and rapid decision-making abilities.
• Ability to supervise staff and facilitate problem-solving during conflicts.
• Remains calm under pressure in high-stress situations.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and serve as a resource for Instructional Aides at the assigned site.
• Manage IA schedule and classroom assignments to meet changing student needs.
• Coordinate de-escalation and intervention training for all staff and ensure timely recertification.
• Act as an IA when enrollment or coverage is high to maintain a safe learning environment.
• Collaborate with Day School Director, SES, teachers, and other staff.
