Job summary

Fermilab is seeking a Deputy Install Construction Supervisor to lead field crews on a major construction program. The role emphasizes safety, cost control, and schedule adherence while coordinating with project management and subcontractors in an active laboratory environment.

Minimum education includes a bachelor's in a related field with substantial experience, or an associate degree with extensive heavy industrial construction background.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field with 10+ years of relevant experience.
• OR Associate degree with 15+ years of heavy industrial/construction experience.
• Onsite field experience with heavy industrial or commercial projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise Construction Specialist staff, including training and performance management.
• Define scope, labor requirements, materials, and execution strategy with project management.
• Coordinate procurement and document progress of work.
• Inspect work for contract specs, quality standards, and building codes.
• Prepare cost estimates and validate subcontractor invoices.
• Monitor schedules and address delays or subcontractor performance issues.
• Ensure ES&H and OSHA compliance on site; manage safety programs.
• Provide regular reporting on progress and risks.
