Job summary

Tract Capital is hiring a Manager, Inside Plant Engineering to lead the Inside Plant discipline across our data center campuses. You will own pre-construction design through turnover, directing cabling, MDF/IDF, racks, and life-safety systems while coordinating with field teams and vendors.

You will guide design standards, QA/QC, and ensure code compliance (TIA, NEC, NFPA) with a hands-on leadership style, partnering with various internal groups to deliver on safety, reliability, and performance

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Information Technology, Construction Management, or related field or equivalent practical experience.
10+ years in inside-plant / structured-cabling engineering or data center infrastructure delivery.
3+ years directly managing a small technical team and leading contractors.
Experience coordinating cross-functional sub-specialties (cabling, RF/life-safety, safety systems).
Familiarity with design tools (AutoCAD/Revit) and documentation practices.

Responsibilities

Lead, manage, and develop a small team of specialists across structured cabling, signal/life-safety, and safety-systems.
Allocate work, balance campus build schedules, and serve as escalation point.
Coach team members and build bench strength for multi-campus support.
Own end-to-end Inside Plant engineering from pre-construction to turnover.
Define design standards and QA/QC criteria for campus builds.
Oversee deliverables (drawings, BOMs, as-builts) for accuracy and compliance.
Drive contractors to meet schedules, scope, and budget.
Ensure commissioning and handover to Operations with proper documentation.
