Job summary

IES Communications is seeking a Project Lead - Infrastructure to act as the on-site coordinator and crew supervisor for voice and data installation projects. The role ensures project completion meets company and customer quality and safety standards while maintaining staff efficiency on site.

The candidate will lead major project crews, provide training, enforce safety and quality guidelines, and conduct weekly safety meetings.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED equivalency.
  • At least 3 years of experience as an electrician or related technical field.
  • Experience terminating fiber and six months of supervisory/managerial experience.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, reporting and quality requirements and to understand universal communications color codes.
  • Proficiency in the listed tools.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Project).
  • Meet company minimum driving standards.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the on‑site coordinator and crew supervisor for voice and data installation projects.
  • Ensure job completion according to company and customer quality and safety requirements while maintaining the efficiency of the staff assigned to the project.
  • Consistently run major project crews, provide necessary training, promote adherence to safety and quality guidelines, and hold weekly safety meetings.
  • Initiate performance related communications and elevate issues to Project Manager as needed.
  • Coordinate with Project Manager to ensure productivity, job completion and compliance with project budget.
  • Accurately complete all IES COMMERCIAL and project paperwork including timesheets, material transfers, work orders, change orders, tool transfers and other required documents.
  • Perform quality checks and prepare red‑lined as‑built drawings.
  • Serve as main on‑site customer contact for questions and concerns and attend facility and construction meetings when required.
  • Demonstrate detailed technical knowledge, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as they arise.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Job Summary

Physical and Mental Requirements

Must be self‑motivated, positive, and professional, able to create, develop and implement project process improvements. Must promote company culture and mission to all employees, vendors, clients and business partners. Must act as liaison to customer representatives, possess problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills, and read, write and present orally. Must work at heights, off ladders and in confined spaces, lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds, see different colors, read small print, identify audible signals, travel within the branch or regional territory as needed, and stand and walk regularly on large job sites.

Screwdriver (regular and Phillips), drywall saw, torpedo level, tape measure, snips (with belt sheath), pliers (needle nose and channel locks), hammer, cable stripper, flashlight, gloves, punch tool with 110 block and 66 block blade, 6/8 position combo crimp tool, Krone/3M/BIX butt set, volt‑ohmmeter, 4‑pair continuity tester, 5‑gang punch tool.

Salary

USD $36.00‑$38.00 per hour.
