Job summary

Americold is seeking a skilled refrigeration technician for our New Jersey warehouse. You will independently perform advanced maintenance and repair of ammonia refrigeration systems, set up equipment, monitor performance, and troubleshoot complex control systems to support safe, efficient operations.

You will oversee contractors, participate in safety programs, and help train junior technicians while maintaining meticulous CMMS records and complying with OSHA standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of industrial refrigeration maintenance experience including ammonia.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of assigned industrial refrigeration and mechanical-electrical courses required.
• HAZMAT training and certification required.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing control systems such as ALTA and Allen Bradley and maintaining records within a CMMS.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform advanced refrigeration maintenance and repair across the warehouse.
• Set up and monitor refrigeration equipment; troubleshoot and replace components.
• Maintain safety standards and perform lockout/tagout procedures.
• Oversee contractors and train less experienced technicians.
• Maintain preventive and predictive maintenance records.
