Job summary

Weee! is seeking an on-site Ammonia Refrigeration Maintenance Technician in Clifton, NJ. The role focuses on operating, maintaining, and repairing ammonia and freon-based cooling systems within a food processing and storage facility.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in ammonia refrigeration, strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills, and the ability to read P&ID/blueprints. The position offers a competitive base salary and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years in ammonia and freon refrigeration.
• 4+ years with cooling, ammonia, freon in produce/food facility.
• Experience with screw and reciprocating compressors and control systems.
• Lock-out/tag-out trained and safe-work practices.
• Ability to read P&ID and blueprints.
• Willing to respond to after-hours emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain ammonia refrigeration systems, including operation, maintenance, and repairs.
• Monitor pressures, temperatures, and system conditions; schedule service.
• Inspect and service vacuum pumps, condensers, compressors, and controls.
• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on cooling equipment.
• Handle hazardous materials per OSHA and EPA guidance.
• Provide reports and troubleshooting by recording readings.
