Job summary

Nortera in New York is seeking a skilled technician to join our refrigeration team. You will perform proper installation, maintenance and adjustments of all associated equipment in the refrigeration cycle, identifying potential problems and worn parts for timely repairs.

Ideal candidates have hands-on experience with two-stage anhydrous ammonia refrigeration systems, repair knowledge of compressors and controls, and the ability to read blueprints or schematics.

Qualifications

• Experience operating and repairing two-stage anhydrous ammonia refrigeration systems.
• Knowledge of screw/booster and reciprocating compressors and IQF tunnels.
• Ability to read blueprints or schematics.
• Ability to work in confined spaces.
• Knowledge of oxygen acetylene equipment.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and adjust equipment in the refrigeration cycle, identifying issues and worn parts.
• Troubleshoot anhydrous ammonia refrigeration system problems.
• Assemble, disassemble, and overhaul pumps, valves, filters, lines, and motors.
• Fit and adjust drive chains and sprockets for drive units.
• Assist boiler operation and boiler room duties including water testing.
