Job summary

OpenAI seeks an Incident Commander in a remote APAC-focused role to lead complex security incident responses across products and infrastructure. You will establish priorities, coordinate multiple streams, and drive containment and recovery decisions with a global team.

You will balance security risk with operational impact, communicate clearly to stakeholders, and continually improve incident readiness through exercises and post-incident reviews.

Qualifications

• Experience leading security incident responses with proven decision records.
• Ability to coordinate multiple teams across time zones.
• Familiarity with telemetry signals and detection concepts.

Responsibilities

• Run incident command from assessment through containment, recovery and closure.
• Assign work-stream owners and coordinate investigation and recovery in parallel.
• Maintain a decision log and distinguish facts from assumptions.
• Communicate incident status and next actions to stakeholders.
• Manage cross-time-zone handoffs with clear ownership and status.
• Improve readiness through exercises, playbooks and post-incident reviews.
