Job summary

Affirm is seeking an experienced security leader to head the global investigations and incident response program as we expand internationally. You will guide complex investigations, build scalable response capabilities, and shape AI-enabled workflows with human oversight and safeguards.

You’ll lead an engineering‑driven team, coordinate cross‑functional responders and executives, and translate incident findings into durable improvements across regions with strong risk reporting.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in security operations, incident response, or a related security field.
• Proven ability to lead major security incidents and investigations in technology-driven, cloud-native environments.
• Strong technical foundation in investigations, incident response, detection, and/or digital forensics across cloud and enterprise.
• Experience managing and developing technical or engineering teams, setting direction and priorities.
• Track record of building scalable response capabilities with on-call readiness and postmortems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including executive updates and board-level reporting.
• Demonstrated ability to move ambiguous work forward and drive investigations to completion.
• An AI-forward mindset with sound judgment in applying AI to security operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead security incidents and investigations across the full lifecycle, from initial assessment through containment and recovery.
• Serve as incident commander for major security events and coordinate large technical response groups.
• Guide technical investigations and root-cause analyses with engineering teams and validate fixes.
• Manage and develop a technical response team, set priorities, and coach engineers.
• Set operating objectives and global readiness practices, including playbooks, on-call readiness, and postmortems.
• Drive engineering improvements to tooling and automation, including AI workflows with safeguards.
• Translate security metrics into executive dashboards and board-level risk reporting.
