Job summary

Raytheon’s Mission Applied Science & Technology (MAST) directorate seeks a Lead Applied Imagery Scientist and Data Scientist with deep experience using machine learning including neural networks and computer vision to develop research prototypes, and transition them to production-grade analytics pipelines to join the MAST AIML Solutions team.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
• Experience in software development, using Python, Java, IDL, R, or other open source high level language used in data science.
• Experience developing, training, and evaluating machine learning models, including deep neural networks; optimizing model performance and conducting validation across large, datasets.
• Experience developing algorithms for large, datasets, in geospatial, sensing, and imagery data; in computer-vision applications
• An active and transferable U.S. government issued TS/SCI security clearance is required prior to start date.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deliver new features for Python and Java machine learning and AI applications.
• Train, evaluate, and refine machine learning models using geospatial and imagery data.
• Develop and integrate new algorithms for machine learning, computer vision, and imagery science workflows.
• Maintain, optimize, and extend existing codebases to improve performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Communicate progress, technical insights, and risks to leadership within an Agile environment.
