Raytheon’s Mission Applied Science & Technology (MAST) directorate seeks a Lead Applied Imagery Scientist and Data Scientist with deep experience in machine learning, neural networks, and computer vision to develop research prototypes and transition them into production-grade analytics pipelines for the MAST AIML Solutions team.

This onsite role requires work at the Dulles, VA facility and/or the customer facility in Springfield, VA, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to push the

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
• Experience in software development using Python, Java, IDL, R or other open source languages used in data science.
• Active and transferable U.S. government issued TS/SCI security clearance is required prior to start date.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deliver new features for Python and Java machine learning and AI applications.
• Train, evaluate, and refine machine learning models using geospatial and imagery data.
• Develop and integrate new algorithms for machine learning, computer vision, and imagery science workflows.
• Maintain, optimize, and extend existing codebases for performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Communicate progress, technical insights, and risks to leadership in an Agile environment.
