Job summary

NorthStar Energy Services is seeking an experienced Designer to join the Professional Engineering Consulting team in Arlington or Houston, TX. You will lead I&E design efforts, work with engineers and multi-discipline teams, and produce construction-ready electrical and control documentation.

The role requires hands-on leadership for complex deliverables, with a focus on QA/QC, standards compliance, and coordination across project teams.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline.
• Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in power distribution or controls systems design.
• All qualified candidates will be required to complete an in-person, computer-based assessment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and locate electrical and instrumentation equipment within a 3D model environment using AutoCAD, CADWorx, and Navisworks in coordination with engineers and multi-discipline design teams.
• Design site-specific power distribution and control systems for new or existing facilities.
• Prepare design drawings and concept sketches to support construction execution and cost estimates.
• Generate and maintain project documentation such as status reports and punch lists.
• Coordinate I&E design requirements with multi-discipline project teams.
