Job summary

Framatome is seeking a System Designer for Instrumentation & Control (I&C) Safety Systems to lead the technical definition, integration and lifecycle architecture of safety-related control systems for nuclear modernization projects in North America.

You will translate regulatory and licensing requirements into clear specifications, drive cross‑disciplinary integration across hardware, software, networks and cybersecurity, and support safety analyses, licensing submittals, and customer meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of related experience.
• Knowledge of engineering standards, techniques, and criteria.
• Good communication to convey technical data clearly.
• Ability to collaborate within a team.
• Problem identification and resolution skills.
• Demonstrates informal leadership.
• Understanding of nuclear licensing frameworks and deterministic behavior.
• Experience supporting licensing submittals or regulatory audits.
• Familiarity with digital safety platforms and cybersecurity requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, integration and lifecycle architecture of safety-related I&C systems.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and safety standards.
• Translate regulatory and customer requirements into system specifications.
• Drive cross-disciplinary integration across hardware, software, networks, and cybersecurity.
• Support safety analyses and risk assessments.
• Collaborate with licensing, quality and commercial teams.
• Prepare lifecycle documentation and safety case inputs.
• Provide technical leadership during design, verification and commissioning tasks.
