Job summary
CDM Smith seeks a Hydraulic Structures Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team on flood control, water supply, and infrastructure projects. You will design hydraulic structures, lead engineering teams, and contribute to proposals and execution across environments in the United States and beyond.
Responsibilities include design analyses, project coordination, budget and schedule forecasting, and preparation of construction documents.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Architectural or Structural Engineering required.
- PE license and 10+ years related experience preferred.
- Willingness to travel domestically/internationally as duties require.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and design hydraulic structures for flood control and water projects.
- Lead project teams of structural engineers and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Prepare scopes of work, budgets and project schedules.
- Forecast workload and schedules; manage budgets and timelines.
- Prepare contract documents and design criteria; review shop drawings.
- Perform construction support including field inspections and submittal reviews.
- Present technical findings to clients and stakeholders.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to business development.
