Leidos in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Hydraulic and Mechanical Lead Engineer to lead the design, development, integration, and test of hydraulic components and systems for a radar program.

You will own hydraulic system architecture, perform trades, create BOMs, CAD models, and support reviews while collaborating across design, analysis, and program management teams. U.S. citizenship and DoD clearance eligibility required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
  • BS + 4 years progressive hydraulics engineering experience or MS + 2 years.
  • Proficient with Solidworks or Creo; ability to generate drawings per ASME Y14.100 & Y14.5.
  • Knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and tolerance stack-up analysis.
  • U.S. Citizenship and active DoD security clearance or eligibility.

Responsibilities

  • Lead hydraulic engineering tasks including design, analysis, manufacture, integration, and test of hydraulic components and subsystems.
  • Support and perform technical trade studies, develop hydraulic system architecture.
  • Apply CAD concepts to meet system requirements and mature designs.
  • Support technical reviews and contribute to Technical Data Package artifacts (CAD models, BOMs, specs, test procedures).
  • Collaborate with design, analysis, fabrication, test, and program management teams to meet schedule.
