Job summary

MPE Services in North Alabama is seeking a Lead HVAC technician to install, maintain, and repair systems for residential and commercial clients. You will diagnose issues, guide customers to the best solution, and oversee field work from installation through end-of-life.

The role requires 2+ years of HVAC experience, EPA certification, valid driver’s license, and a leadership mindset. You will mentor junior technicians, log service records, and participate in on-call rotations.

Qualifications

HVAC technician with 2+ years experience; willingness to continue HVAC education.
Valid EPA certification; NATE certification is a major plus.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving history.
Leadership mindset and focus on customer satisfaction.
Ability to work after hours, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

Diagnose electrical, mechanical, airflow, and control issues.
Service rooftop units, package units, split systems, heat pumps, and furnaces as needed.
Replace compressors, reversing valves, control boards, VFDs, etc.
Explain system issues clearly to customers and present options.
Mentor, guide, and train junior technicians and apprentices.
Ensure repairs and installations meet code and safety standards.
Log service records, notes, and invoicing in Crmsoftware.
Provide precise labor and material estimates for repairs, upgrades, installations.
Maintain an organized service truck with adequate inventory.
Log critical data (static pressure, temp splits, amps) in job notes.
Communicate with management and dispatch for smooth workflow.
Participate in on-call rotation and after-hours responses.
