Job summary

Pure Comfort Heating and Air Conditioning is seeking an experienced HVAC technician to independently service and repair homes across Streamwood, Bartlett, Elgin, Schaumburg and nearby suburbs. You will diagnose the real cause, fix it right the first time and explain options clearly, without pressure.

As lead technician, you will drive service calls, coordinate with customers, and participate in occasional on-call rotations while ensuring safety and quality.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of residential HVAC service experience.
• EPA 608 certification.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair gas furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, ductless mini-splits, boilers and water heaters.
• Troubleshoot electrical, ignition, airflow and refrigerant problems.
• Perform combustion and carbon monoxide safety checks.
• Present repair and replacement options honestly and clearly.
• Use Housecall Pro on a tablet for scheduling, notes, photos and invoicing.
• Take part in occasional on-call rotations, including weekends.

About the role

We want a technician who finds the real cause, fixes it right the first time and explains the options clearly, without pressure. You will run your own service calls across Streamwood, Bartlett, Elgin, Schaumburg and the surrounding suburbs.

What you will do

• Diagnose and repair gas furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, ductless mini-splits, boilers and water heaters

• Present repair and replacement options honestly and clearly

What you need

• 5+ years of residential HVAC service experience
• EPA 608 certification
• Strong electrical troubleshooting skills
• Valid Illinois driver's license and a clean driving record
• Ability to pass a background check and drug test
• Ability to work in attics, crawl spaces and basements and lift 50+ pounds

Nice to have

• NATE certification
• Lennox equipment experience
• Heat pump and inverter mini-split experience
• Hydronic boiler experience

Where this role leads

As a lead technician, you take home a company truck. We pay for ongoing Lennox and ComEd heat pump training.

Schedule and benefits

Full-time, Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturday work as needed, occasional on-call rotations including weekends, and seasonal overtime. Hourly pay depends on experience, plus weekly performance bonuses.
