Job summary

Walmart is seeking a skilled HVAC/R technician to install, configure and maintain commercial systems at our Montgomery, AL facilities. You will interpret blueprints, calibrate direct digital controls, and ensure compliance with building codes while coordinating with on-site managers and trainees.

Responsibilities include diagnosing mechanical and refrigerant issues, leading field teams, and documenting refrigerant usage and service outcomes.

Qualifications

• Option 1: Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and 2 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls.
• Option 2: 4 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls or related field.
• Hold and maintains Type I and Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency certification for refrigerant handling.
• Where required, HVAC-R/ Mechanical Journeyman.

Responsibilities

• Installs HVAC and refrigeration systems, including ductwork, control panels, and building pneumatics.
• Maintains and repairs rack systems, walk-ins, reach-ins, and supermarket refrigeration units.
• Coordinates service calls and manages workload using digital tools and scheduling systems.
