Job summary

Pro Comfort Solutions LLC in Chicago is seeking a skilled lead HVAC installer to run a small install crew. From walk-through to start-up checks, you’ll install furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, boilers, and water heaters, guiding a helper on every job and documenting notes with Jobber.

You’ll manage sheet metal and duct work, brazing and testing to spec, handle gas venting and condensate connections, and perform start-up checks with customers, ensuring clear explanations and quality work

Qualifications

• EPA 608 certification (Universal or Type II) required on day one.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Lead and train a helper on the install crew.

Responsibilities

• Install complete residential systems (furnaces, A/C, heat pumps, boilers) per job.
• Perform sheet metal and duct work, brazing, testing and charging to spec.
• Handle gas venting, condensate connections and control wiring.
• Conduct start-up checks (airflow, temperatures, pressures) and walk customers through the system.

Job description

Lead the install crew at a small, family-owned HVAC shop. You run each job from the first walk-through to the start-up checks: furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, boilers, ductless systems and water heaters, with a helper working beside you.

You need this on day one

• Installing complete residential systems on your own: furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps and boilers
• EPA 608 certification, Universal or Type II
• A valid driver's license

This is the work

• Sheet metal and duct work: transitions, plenums and returns, built and sealed to fit
• Brazing, pressure testing, evacuation and charging to the manufacturer's specifications
• Gas, venting and condensate connections, and control wiring, for the equipment you set
• Start-up checks on every job: airflow, temperatures and pressures, before you leave
• Walking the customer through the new system in plain words
• Leading and training the helper on your crew, and keeping the job site and the van in order
• Complete notes and photos in Jobber on every job
• Carrying and setting equipment with your crew, and working in attics, crawl spaces and on roofs

EPA 608 certification, Universal or Type II, is required before your first day.

You'll drive a company van to jobs in the city.

Full-time day shifts, 40 hours or more a week. Overtime is paid after 40 hours in a week, as state and federal law require.
