Job summary

Hooper, a Wisconsin-based electric power and mechanical contractor, seeks an HVAC Design Lead to lead the design and coordination ofHVAC systems on design-build projects, ensuring alignment with codes, cost, quality, and safety. You will supervise drafting, review shop drawings, and coordinate with clients and other trades, while staying current with Wisconsin codes and LEED project participation.

This role requires a BS in mechanical engineering, 2–3 years' HVAC design experience, and

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
Engineering in training (EIT) certificate in Wisconsin preferred.
Preferred 2–3 years of experience designing HVAC systems.
Experience leading diverse project teams and coordination.
Proficiency with commissioning processes and MS Office.
Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook; valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

Design comprehensive HVAC systems (ductwork, piping, controls) for design-build projects.
Attend meetings to coordinate design issues with clients and disciplines.
Review shop drawings and track submittal progress.
Oversee drafting work for design/build and design-assist projects.
Maintain in-house design standards and contribute to business development.
