Job summary

Hooper is seeking an HVAC design engineer to lead design and coordination on design‑build projects in Wisconsin. You will plan, organize, and oversee the execution of HVAC systems, ensuring cost, quality, and safety objectives are met.

Responsibilities include coordinating with clients and disciplines, reviewing shop drawings, and supporting project managers on design‑assist efforts. A strong background in HVAC design and codes is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent 4-year degree.
• EIT certificate in Wisconsin preferred.
• 2–3 years of experience designing HVAC systems.
• Experience leading diverse project teams and coordinating with clients.
• Knowledge of commissioning processes and codes.

Responsibilities

• Design HVAC systems for design‑build projects, ensuring codes and standards compliance.
• Lead design coordination, attend client meetings, and review plans.
• Oversee drafting for design/build projects and support field coordination.
• Review shop drawings and track submittals; coordinate with vendors.
• Advance in-house design standards and contribute to business development.
• Stay current with Wisconsin codes and LEED documentation where applicable.
• Conduct field surveys and ensure system fit within building conditions.
