Job summary

Johnson Controls International plc. in Texas seeks an on-site HVAC Controls Lead Systems Specialist to lead controls projects from planning through closeout, coordinating hardware design, programming, checkout, installation support, commissioning, and turnover.

You will monitor financial performance, ensure safety, and provide technical guidance while maintaining customer satisfaction and project integrity across the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Technical Associate's Degree or equivalent field experience required.
• Proficiency in building automation systems design, installation, checkout, programming, and commissioning.
• Licenses, certifications, and relevant hands-on experience desirable.
• Ability to work independently and manage projects effectively.
• Strong PC skills and ability to communicate technical information clearly.

Responsibilities

• Lead assigned controls projects from planning through closeout, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
• Perform hardware design, system programming, checkout, installation coordination, and commissioning activities.
• Track project financial results including scheduling, cost, invoicing, and collections as applicable.
• Maintain clear communication with customers, subcontractors, and team members throughout all project phases.
• Provide technical guidance to installers, technicians, designers, and subcontractors to align with project requirements.
• Ensure systems are validated and operational before turnover.
• Complete project closeout activities and support documentation.
