Wilmette Park District is seeking a dedicated HVAC Trade Technician to diagnose and repair complex building systems at West Park in Wilmette, IL. The role demands blueprints interpretation and the ability to work with minimal supervision, across HVAC, plumbing and electrical domains.

The position requires 2-year degree and 3–5 years of HVAC experience, plus BAS familiarity. Normal hours are days, with a strong emphasis on safety and preventive maintenance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be 21 years or older.
• Minimum 1+ years vocational education.
• 3-5 years HVAC technician experience.
• Experience with BAS (Building Automation Systems).

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve complex system failures across HVAC, plumbing, electrical.
• Perform maintenance on HVAC and boiler systems.
• Maintain plumbing, electrical and general building systems.
• Read blueprints and construction documents for repairs and projects.
• Support preventive maintenance to maximize equipment life.
• Order and maintain parts for HVAC systems.
• Coordinate with contractors and internal staff.
