Job summary

Peace Village in Palos Park, IL seeks a dedicated HVAC / Building Systems Technician to support inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and installation of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and related building systems. The role reports to the Senior HVAC Technician and Facilities Director.

Qualifications

• HVAC trade school or equivalent hands-on experience preferred.
• Entry-level HVAC graduates encouraged to apply; experienced candidates up to 10 years considered.
• Basic understanding of HVAC systems and mechanical equipment; ability to use common HVAC hand tools.
• EPA 608 certification preferred or ability to obtain within a set timeframe.
• Valid driver’s license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with inspecting, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on HVAC equipment.
• Replace and maintain basic components (filters, belts, thermostats, relays, fuses, motors, bearings, valves, gaskets).
• Assist with boiler inspections and routine boiler maintenance; monitor gauges, temperatures, and pressures.
• Assist with basic electrical troubleshooting of HVAC systems and controls.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe mechanical rooms; complete work orders and document repairs.
