Job summary

Community Unit School District 200 - Wheaton seeks a seasonal HVAC technician to maintain, diagnose and repair district building mechanical systems. The role supports the Facility Services team across multiple sites and requires hands-on troubleshooting.

The position involves calibrating valves/controls, performing preventative maintenance, assisting remodeling tasks, and locating shut-offs, with schedules varying by season and assignment.

Qualifications

• Seasonal HVAC maintenance and repair experience preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and manuals.
• Able to operate building automation systems.

Responsibilities

• Make basic calibrations of valves and controls for HVAC equipment and operate building automation systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance on all mechanical equipment.
• Assist remodeling projects including basic carpentry, masonry, plumbing, painting, installing vinyl cove base and electrical tasks under Facility Services Management.
• Locate mechanical system main shut offs, gas, electric, water, sprinkler systems.
• Duties as assigned; work schedule varies with season and assignment.
