Job summary

DEPCOM Power, a Koch company, seeks a High Voltage Project Manager to lead HV substation and interconnection projects in the Midwest portfolio. You will manage EPC contractors, review engineering deliverables, and drive execution from engineering through commissioning for utility-scale renewables.

The ideal candidate has an Electrical Engineering background and experience with high-voltage design, construction, and contractor performance.

Qualifications

Experience managing high-voltage substation, transmission, interconnection, or utility infrastructure projects.
Experience reviewing high-voltage engineering drawings, specifications, studies, and construction deliverables.
Knowledge of substation design, construction practices, protection and control systems, and interconnection requirements.

Responsibilities

Lead the execution of high-voltage substation and interconnection projects from engineering through commissioning and closeout.
Drive project performance by managing scope, schedule, budget, risk mitigation plans, and key deliverables.
Manage and influence EPC contractors, engineering consultants, utilities, vendors, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
Lead technical reviews of substation engineering packages, protection and control designs, equipment specifications, and construction drawings for quality and constructability.
Review and provide direction on high-voltage design documentation and studies throughout the lifecycle.
Champion safe execution by ensuring compliance with standards, regulations, and electrical codes.
Monitor contractor performance, resolve issues, and ensure contractual/technical compliance.
Conduct site visits and field assessments to evaluate progress and resolve challenges.
Identify risks and mitigation strategies with engineering and construction teams to protect schedule and budget.
Communicate project status and recommendations to senior leadership and stakeholders.
Support procurement for major high-voltage equipment and materials.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across DEPCOM's substation portfolio.
