Job summary

Accelera in Florida seeks a Senior Substation Project Engineer to lead the end-to-end lifecycle of high-voltage infrastructure projects, driving technical excellence from concept to commissioning.

You will bridge development teams and construction, ensuring safety, regulatory, and performance standards while guiding vendors and internal teams through complex interconnection studies and engineering service procurements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil/Structural Engineering required.
• Experience in high-voltage substation design and project engineering required.
• Knowledge of industry codes, permitting processes, and interconnection documentation required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the technical direction and due diligence of external engineering partners to ensure compliance with IEEE, NESC, and ASCE standards.
• Manage project scope and engineering requirements during the early development phase for seamless handoffs.
• Represent organizational interests in high-level stakeholder meetings with clear risk mitigation strategies and progress updates.
• Collaborate with transmission services to integrate interconnection studies, including harmonic and reactive power analysis, into final designs.
• Streamline procurement by preparing technical specifications and managing engineering service requests.
• Ensure all substation designs meet ISO requirements and regional transmission owner mandates.
