U.S. Coast Guard within the Department of Homeland Security is seeking a Lead Human Resources Assistant (GS-0203-7/8) for the HUMAN RESOURCES SERVICE CENTER SOUTHEAST. The position is located in Washington, DC or Norfolk, VA, with location negotiable after selection.

You will lead a team of HR Assistants, assign work by region, ensure deadlines and provide guidance on HR procedures. You will manage FEHB and TSP open season projects and resolve personnel action rejects to maintain data accuracy.

• This position does not have a positive education requirement.

Responsibilities

• Set priorities and deadlines for a team of HR Assistants, assigns work based on region and priorities, verifies timely accomplishment of the workload.
• Provides technical guidance on standardized procedures, policies and directives.
• Manages projects such as FEHB and TSP open seasons.
• Troubleshoots personnel action rejects from automated systems and corrects data in systems.
• Processes a full range of personnel actions including promotions, reassignments, separations, and corrections.
