Job summary

City of Winston-Salem is seeking a skilled supervisor to oversee housing inspections and code enforcement activities. The role reports to the Deputy Community and Business Development Director and provides continuous oversight of the inspections team.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED with extensive housing inspection supervisory experience; technical or bachelor degree preferred, and a North Carolina Housing Inspectors License is required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Oversee Neighborhood Conservation Officer and field abatement staff activities.
• Train Neighborhood Conservation Officers.
• Assist Code Enforcement Senior Project Supervisor with code enforcement delivery.
• Investigate citizen complaints about inspections, invoices, and abatements.
• Analyze code enforcement reports and take action.
• Identify illegal dumping violators and follow through.
• Develop and stay current on code enforcement fields.
• Inspect thoroughfares for aesthetics and coordinate corrective action.
