Job summary

InterContinental Indianapolis is seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of the housekeeping department and supervise staff under the guidance of the Executive Housekeeper.

Daily tasks include coordinating room status with front desk, maintaining safety standards, ensuring high-quality cleaning, and training team members while supporting cost control and payroll activities. This role requires prior supervisory experience in a busy hotel environment.

Qualifications

• High school education or GED or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in housekeeping, with at least one year in a supervisory role.

Responsibilities

• Controls, monitors and communicates room status with front desk.
• Practice safe work habits; follow MSDS and OSHA standards; wear protective equipment.
• Ensures quality services meet guest needs and uphold guest relations.
• Inspects and maintains cleanliness across rooms, storage, laundry, restrooms and public areas.
• Enforces procedures for acceptance, security and return of lost and found items.
• Assists in inventories of uniforms, linen, supplies and equipment; orders supplies as needed.
• Provide ongoing training to Room Attendants, Public Area Attendants, and Housepersons.
• Assist in cost control and payroll.
