ELKHORN seeks a dedicated cook to manage and operate the kitchen in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor. Prepare meals, follow menus, and ensure sanitary, safe food service for residents.

You will work with dietary staff, maintain records, obtain ServSafe certification, and support residents with appealing presentations. Experience in hospital or long-term care settings is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• At least one year of experience as a cook in a hospital or long-term care facility.
• Ability to read technical procedures and follow recipes.
• Must obtain and maintain ServSafe Certificate.
• Must remain in good standing with the Department of Public Health.

Responsabilités

• Maintain kitchen and cooking area in a safe, orderly, clean and sanitary manner.
• Prepare tasteful meals and cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
• Follow prepared menus and portion control guides; prepare special diets accurately.
• Record food temperatures; prepare pureed foods; cooperate with all departments.
• Maintain sanitation standards and assist with serving meals.
• Report resident care concerns to Administrator/Director of Nurses; train dietary staff.
• Present food attractively and supervise in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor.
• Adhere to cleaning schedules and supervise when required.
