Job summary

The Mckay-Creek-Assisted-Living seeks a dependable cook to manage the kitchen in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor. You will prepare tasteful meals, follow menus, portion controls, and handle large quantities.

You will record temperatures, prepare pureed foods, and work with staff across departments to ensure cleanliness and safety. Requires a High school diploma or equivalent and a ServSafe certificate; at least 1 year as a cook in hospital/long-term care preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• ServSafe Certificate required or must obtain.
• Experience as a cook in a hospital or long-term care facility (1+ year).

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and cooking area in a safe, orderly, clean and sanitary manner.
• Prepare tasteful meals and cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
• Follow prepared menus and portion control guides.
• Record food temperatures and prepare pureed foods as needed.
• Work with staff across departments and assist with serving meals.
• In absence of Dietary Supervisor, supervise and report issues as needed.
