Job summary

Tufts Medicine is seeking a cook to prepare meals for staff and visitors across hospital facilities, ensuring accuracy, quantity, appearance, and quality. You will operate a busy kitchen, follow recipes, monitor food safety, and support inventory and sanitation standards in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires 2 years of related food service experience; preferred are an Associates degree in culinary arts, ServSafe certification, and 3 years of cook experience.

Qualifications

• 2 years of related experience in a food services environment or restaurant.
• Associates degree in culinary arts, cooking, or similar area of study.
• Three years of experience as a cook in food services or restaurant.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• ServSafe certification.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of hot and cold food items for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and events.
• Operate and maintain kitchen equipment and follow HACCP guidelines.
• Assist in menu planning and food inventory management.
• Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and storage areas.
• Supervise day-to-day activities of subordinates and coordinate with on-site management.
• Open and close the kitchen and ensure consistent food quality and portion control.
