Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson is seeking a senior civil engineer to lead design efforts, coordinating with project engineers to meet schedule, budget, and quality. The role requires an ABET-accredited degree and substantial discipline experience.

Experience with OpenRoads and discipline-specific design software is essential, along with strong communication and presentation skills. A Professional Engineer license is preferred. Office-based with some fieldwork and client interaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited program is required.
• 6+ or 10+ years’ experience in the discipline per the posting.
• Proficiency in OpenRoads and discipline specific design software.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering design for tasks within a discipline, coordinated with project engineers.
• Provide design status updates and track discipline budgets.
• Coach design staff and mentor junior engineers.
• Attend client meetings and provide timely updates and solutions.
• Coordinate with sub-consultants and internal teams to meet deadlines and quality.
