Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson is seeking a seasoned civil engineer to lead design within a discipline, coordinating with project engineers to deliver on schedule, budget, and quality. The role emphasizes project management, mentorship, and client coordination across counties and states.

The ideal candidate holds an ABET-accredited civil engineering degree, a PE license, and extensive experience with OpenRoads and related design software, plus strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 6+ years of experience in a specialized civil engineering discipline.
• Strong knowledge of OpenRoads and discipline-specific design software.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience coordinating with local county/state clients.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering design within a discipline and coordinate with project engineers.
• Provide design status updates to the Project Manager and track budgets.
• Coach and mentor design staff through the design process.
• Coordinate with sub-consultants and internal disciplines.
• Prepare contract plans, specs, and estimates and ensure on-time delivery.
• Perform design computations and QA/QC per PMP guidelines.
