Job summary

Colorado Department of Transportation is seeking a Transportation Maintenance II to lead a patrol and oversee maintenance in a designated area. Responsibilities include planning daily work, supervising crew, and ensuring safe operation of heavy equipment under demanding conditions.

Applicants should have at least three years of road/highway maintenance experience, a valid CDL, and willingness to work nights, weekends, and overtime. SAP/MS Office familiarity is preferred.

Qualifications

• At least three (3) years of experience in road/highway maintenance.
• Examples of road/highway maintenance experience: repairing potholes; paving operations; operating heavy equipment; maintaining right-of-way fences; road sign and guardrail maintenance; traffic control; snow removal.

Responsibilities

• Plan daily activities and scheduling for patrol; review progress; provide on-the-job training and feedback.
• Ensure required trainings and safety classes are completed; conduct inspections of worksites and roadways.
• Lead and perform maintenance on road surfaces, roadside facilities, vegetation, bridges, and drainage as needed.
• Maintain roadside appearance and signage; manage equipment and PPE; complete paperwork and SAP entries.
