Job summary

Colorado Department of Transportation is seeking a Transportation Maintenance II lead for the Crested Butte area. The role directs a patrol, oversees heavy construction equipment operation, and performs demanding manual labor under various conditions to maintain roads and facilities.

Mandatory three years of road/highway maintenance experience, and a valid CDL A or B with appropriate endorsements. The position offers a base pay with housing stipend and potential overtime, and requires SAP system

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of experience in road/highway maintenance.
• Experience planning and supervising the daily work of a patrol team.
• Strong emphasis on safety, training, and compliance with DOT requirements.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule daily activities in the assigned area and mentor staff.
• Ensure all required training and safety classes are completed.
• Lead road patching, patching, drainage, and roadside maintenance tasks.
• Maintain roadside facilities, signs, guard rails, and pavement markings.
• Manage winter operations, snow removal, and ice control.
• Oversee equipment maintenance and use of heavy machinery.
• Complete SAP work orders and time entries.
