Job summary

Georgia Department of Transportation is seeking an Assistant Foreman (TRT053 Trans Tech 4) to supervise a crew performing routine maintenance on the state route system. You will help with planning, training, and ensuring safety procedures are followed.

Selected candidate may be required to operate various maintenance equipment and provide leadership to lower level employees. A Class B CDL is preferred for some positions, with compliance to MSDS and traffic control standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 18 months of experience at position equivalent.
• Three years minimum of proven/qualified roadway maintenance or construction experience.
• Possession of a valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (preferred for some positions).
• MSD Level 1-4 completion (required for some candidates).
• Current flagger training and knowledge of traffic control procedures and installation.

Responsibilities

• Assist Foreman with supervising a crew performing routine maintenance on the state route system.
• Assist with training lower level employees on safety procedures and preventive maintenance.
• Assist with coordinating, planning, and directing routine maintenance tasks to complete assignments.
• Assist with maintaining documents, forms, and reports and with equipment operation.
• Assist with inspections of state routes and rights-of-way for maintenance and safety needs.
