Job summary

GDOT seeks an experienced Maintenance Equipment Operator (TRT052 Trans Tech 3) to perform advanced maintenance and operation of highway and related equipment. You will run heavy equipment, conduct preventive maintenance, and support emergency responses as needed.

Requirements include a High school diploma or GED, Class B CDL (preferred), and prior roadway maintenance experience. The role may require on-call availability and compliance with safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and one year of experience at position equivalent.
• Possession of Class B CDL and MSD Level 1-3.
• Two years of roadway maintenance experience and valid CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operates heavy equipment such as motor grader, excavator, asphalt paver, lowboy, etc.
• Performs preventive maintenance on assigned equipment.
• Responds to emergency situations affecting the state route system during and after hours.
• Provides day-to-day supervision of a crew or sub-unit as assigned by supervisor.
