U.S. Facilities, Inc. is seeking a Construction Inspector to oversee highway construction projects in Suffolk, Virginia.

The role entails coordinating, scheduling, and inspecting all phases to ensure quality per plans and specifications, while maintaining safety standards and public relations. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, strong analytic skills, ability to read plans, and experience in field inspections.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, interpret, and analyze roadway, structure, and bridge plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with VDOT, contractor personnel, and the general public.
• Ability to work independently and oversee and provide technical guidance and training to other inspectors.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software.

Responsibilities

• Inspect all phases of highway construction projects to ensure quality per plans and specs.
• Monitor project schedule through progress meetings and notify if variance occurs.
• Review quantities and costs to keep the project on budget and ensure proper submittals.
• Oversee materials testing and verify compliance with contract requirements.
