Montgomery County Educational Service Center in Ohio seeks a Winter Percussion Director under the High School Band Director. You plan and instruct percussion students during the winter pep band season (Dec–Feb) and rehearse the ensemble for events.

The position requires a strong marching band background, percussion experience, and ability to work with high school students. You will complete coaching and safety certifications after hire and coordinate performances.

Qualifications

• Strong background in marching band and percussion performance.
• Drum corps or university marching band experience preferred.
• Experience with percussion subgroups (snare, bass, tenors, mallets).
• Experience teaching percussion to high school students.
• Ability to inspire students and foster enthusiasm for the subject.
• Ability to tune/replace drum heads and perform minor repairs.
• Ability to work with students, staff, parents, and community.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to interact positively with students of varying ages and skill levels.
• Responsible for selection, training, and performances at events.
