Job summary

The Hernando County School Board is inviting applications for the High School Percussion Technician - Assistant to Director at Springstead High School. This instructional supplemental role supports the percussion program, attends practices, games, and competitions, and helps prepare marching shows.

The position requires knowledge of marching rhythms, ability to perform percussion music, and a willingness to work before and after school.

Qualifications

• Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of complex marching rhythms.
• Ability to demonstrate and perform marching show music.
• Willingness to devote time before and after school hours.
• Experience participating in a percussion program.

Responsibilities

• Attend and participate in all practices, games, and competitions.
• Supervise all percussion activities and rehearsals.
• Act as advocate for percussion program in school and community.
• Aid in the presentation of marching programs at home and away sites, if applicable.
• Emphasize academic excellence with percussion and/or band class.
• Implement program policies and procedures.
• Ability to communicate for facility usage.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Site Administrator and/or designee.
